What To Do When You Get Fired

While many people find it hard to deal with losing their job, it can be the best thing, as it allows them to get back into the job market rather than sit around and be discouraged.  Employees dread hearing the words  "you are fired," "you've been terminated," or the "company is downsizing," to give few examples.   But, this may just turn out to be a good thing after all.  SO:  what should you do in this situation? Don’t sit around too long contemplating what happened or mope about what you *could* have done differently to prevent such action. Instead, decide on a career path or change if needed, especially if you were unhappy in your job.  Don’t go back to the same industry if it wasn't enjoyable to begin with. Consider re-location if you are able, in order to give yourself a chance for a fresh start.

Tell EVERYONE you are in the job market again—your minister, your insurance agent, your banker, your dry cleaner, your friends, your neighbors, your relatives, your family and so on. Networking is one of the most powerful and easiest ways to find a job.  Think about who you deal with on a regular basis and make a list.  Though they may not be able to find you that ideal job you want, they may know someone who can, playing a key role in your job search
?

Once you find that new job, make sure you continue to network rather than waiting until you don't have a job again. Be open to criticism, learn from the mistakes that were made, and allow that experience to enable you to grow mentally as well as professionally
