Honesty During an Interview

Honesty is important during an interview for a number of reasons. First and foremost, it builds a strong bond between you and your potential employer. You also want to be honest about your work history. If you are not and the new employer finds out, you may be fired or heavily disciplined   Forthright mention of your strengths and weaknesses can impress the hiring interviewer and help you advance in the company faster. It may even lead to a better career in the future.

During the hiring process, you may undergo many interviews with several different people. You want them to think as highly of you as possible. Do not be mistaken; many of those people who conduct interviews do this many times a year, and are very experienced in so doing. If you complete the interview successfully and the employer later sees that you cannot perform the duties that you said you could, you are subject to immediate dismissal from your job.

If you are fired or dismissed from a job for any type of dishonesty, including dishonesty during an interview, it may be hard for you to find other employment.  For this reason, it is crucial for you to be as honest as you can during the interview process. This is true not only for the job-search process, but in all you do asit will also gain you the respect of your family and friends.
