Interview Tips

Before you decide to work for a company you should always inform yourself about it. People who are well informed about a company have a better chance of landing a job than those who are not prepared at all. If you have done your research properly, you will be ready to answer on the spot questions that a prospective employer may have for you. Sometimes an employer may ask these types of questions to see what you know and how prepared you are.

When you are notified that you have an interview, you should find a friend to role play the part of the employer. Have this person draw up a mock interview packet. Tell them they should have real questions that they would ask if they were the employer.

The day of the interview is a big day for you. Be sure to look presentable. How you look and conduct yourself tells people a lot about the person you are. You want to assure the company that you are a dependable person. Make sure to be on time for your interview. You may even want to arrive a few minutes before your scheduled time. When you arrive, prepare all the necessary paperwork you may need. Also you may want to have a list of questions for the hiring manager. Don't be afraid to ask questions. This will show that you are enthusiastic about the job. And, enthusiasm is a definite attribute in today’s workplace.
