How to Make a Successful Resume

Building a resume takes some effort. If you want your potential employer to see you as an organized, intelligent, and hardworking individual, your resume must be flawless. The first thing to remember when writing a resume is to keep it short, at one page if possible. Your resume should be typed and look neat. You should be honest about your skills and work experience. You should remember to use the correct form or tense of a word and have someone look over your resume before your interview.

Be sure to include your name, address, phone number, education, and work experience as well as an email address. Make sure your email address is a professional one, not an inappropriate nickname or something else equally unprofessional.

A resume should be a reflection of you. It is the first impression the potential employer has of you. A resume should be well thought out and written in a highly elevated style. A resume should market your skills and highlight your qualifications and experience.

The resume should also avoid focusing on the past and look to the future. When writing a resume, put yourself in the shoes of the person who will read it. Above all, do NOT USE a standard resume for every job application.  Remember, it must fit the job you are applying for.

A perfect resume should grab the employer’s attention. It should be distinct and stand out. A winning resume is one that speaks, shouting out loud your abilities and strengths.
