Great Interview

To get that job you really want, you must practice heavily for the interview. Get help from friends or family members by asking them to critique your performance. You need to show the hiring company you can do the job, and you need to project confidence in yourself so that the company will want to hire you. In your preparations for the interview, find out as much as you can about the company and try to talk their language if you can. Know the interviewer’s name, and use it during the interview. If more than one interviewer is there for your meeting, get to know their names and use those as well.

Tell the interviewer what you know about the company if you are asked. Let them know you’ve studied for this interview and believe that you are a good fit for the position. Always keep the employer’s needs in mind, but actively sell yourself as well. Of course, it's important not to go overboard; you don’t want to come across as egotistical. When the interviewer is ready to end the interview, he or she will no doubt ask if you have any questions about the job. Be ready to ask a well-thought question to show you did, in fact, prepare for the interview. Follow up that question by turning it around for the interviewer to ask additional questions of you. This will allow you to let the interviewer know more about yourself, giving them a lasting impression of you.

Always follow-up the interview with a thank you note letting them know you are interested in the job and believe you are their best candidate. Send everyone who interviewed you a similar note.
